WHY THE HUBBUB OVER MAIL-IN VOTING?

In the early days of this country, voting was restricted to white male landowners. Of course, this changed over the years, but there is something to be said about having landowners vote as they have a vested interest in the country, but that is another subject for another day.

Historically, voting was done in person, using either paper and pencil or a variety of machines. Over time, it became necessary to create an “absentee ballot” for people who could not vote in person, e.g.; people with physical disabilities, people scheduled to be out of town on voting day, members of the military serving far from home, etc. This provided the means for citizens to fulfill their civic duty.

Here in Florida, we refer to absentee voting as “Vote-by-Mail” but please do not confuse it with Vote-by-Mail programs implemented by other states. Florida’s “Vote-by-Mail” requires a person to first be registered with the state to vote, then requesting a ballot to vote. To register, you will need either your Florida driver’s license or Florida identification card (both include the person’s photo). You will also need the last four digits of your Social Security Number. Once registered, a person can request a ballot from the state either over the Internet, by telephone, in person, or by mail. The request can be for one time or as an on-going basis. This all sounds rather simple, right? It is, but the two key variables here are “registration” and “requesting.”

In other states, mostly western states controlled by Democrats, they are sending “Vote by Mail” ballots to all registered voters, whether they want it or not. Such initiatives are being exercised by Democrat politicians claiming it will help those voters who do not want to catch the COVID-19 virus. The fact such legislation is being implemented strictly along party lines makes one suspect there are other motivational factors involved, such as encouraging Democrats to vote. Using registered voters from Florida as an example, here is what the Democrats are afraid of. In 2016 there were more registered Democrats than Republicans in Florida, yet Mr. Trump won the election here. Why? Simply because more Republicans voted than Democrats. So, their hope is to motivate more Democrats to vote this time than in 2016. As an aside, the same is shaping up for 2020.

As for me, I like the fundamental concept of an absentee ballot, simply because it gives people who want to vote the ability to do so, particularly if they are unable to vote in person. To ask for a ballot means you care and want to stay involved with the electoral process. Having it mailed out without requesting it is highly suspicious, as party officials may pick up ballots and vote on the voter’s behalf. Let’s also imagine if you know someone is missing, deceased, moved, hospitalized, or has no intention of voting, what is to stop them from voting on the person’s behalf? Not much. Then again, this is incredibly illegal and falls under the category of “Voter Fraud.” Moral people would avoid doing this, but what if you are desperate enough to do anything to regain the White House and Congress?

For these reasons, I am opposed to “Vote by Mail” as defined by other states. Frankly, it sounds crooked as Hell. I do not have a problem with normal absentee voting, so long as the person is “registered” and has “requested” the ballot. As to using the COVID-19 excuse to implement such a program, why is it we can go to super markets and stores and not catch the virus? Is it because they know something the Democrats do not? As someone else mentioned to me, “If we can’t trust states to properly count COVID deaths, how can we trust them to count our votes?”

Call me old-fashioned, but I would still prefer only landowners vote as they have a genuine concern for their country.

CAPITALISM VERSUS SOCIALISM: DO YOU KNOW THE DIFFERENCE?

Posted by Tim Bryce on August 6, 2020

BRYCE ON POLITICS

– What every young person should know.

I originally wrote this piece in March 2019 and was pleasantly surprised by the flurry of questions I received regarding the differences between Capitalism and Socialism.  High Schools simply do not teach the differences between these two important subjects, hence the interest in my article. So much so, I produced a free mini-poster to show the differences (click to DOWNLOAD). As these two opposing philosophies are key to the upcoming elections in November, I decided to rerun it herein and included it in my latest book, “BEFORE YOU VOTE: KNOW HOW YOUR GOVERNMENT WORKS.” Enjoy!

REFERENCE GUIDE

                                                              CAPITALISM                                SOCIALISM

WHAT IS IT? Socioeconomic system based on PRIVATE ownership of the means of production and operates for PROFIT.Encourages independence and the rights of the INDIVIDUAL over the group.

The individual is allowed to try any endeavor, including the development, marketing and support of products and services for public consumption.

The individual is allowed to keep and enjoy the fruits of his/her labors.

Socioeconomic system based on STATE ownership of the means of production; not driven by profit.Encourages state dependency and the rights of the GROUP over the individual.

The state dictates what products and services are to be developed, and who shall produce them.

Each person works for the state, not individually, and receives compensation in the form of shared wealth and free services.

A pseudo-Utopia.

ECONOMY Free economy; based on private buyers and sellers.Competition flourishes and causes natural evolution of products and services through market demand (akin to Darwin’s “Natural Selection”).

Consumers free to choose the products and services they want.

Economy is controlled by the state; little, if any, competition.
Buyer has fewer choices to make.
CLASS STRUCTURE 3 levels – Upper/Middle/Lower classes.
Middle class powers economy through purchasing power.
2 levels – State/Worker classes (aka, “Master/Slave”).No middle class, no economic engine, a redistribution of the wealth.

Workers become wards of the state.

THE INDIVIDUAL Independence encourages personal initiative and work ethic.More earning power, but individual assumes risk.

Enjoys protection of Intellectual Property, e.g., patents, copyrights, trade secrets, etc.

Employment will experience ups and downs due to economic conditions.

Discourages personal initiative (“everyone wins”). No Super Rich.Compensation is evenly distributed among workers.

Earning power is limited. Individual assumes no risk.

Intellectual Property is owned by the state, not individual.

Employment is guaranteed.

EFFECT ON GOVERNMENT Personal independence requires freedom and equal rights in order to function.Requires less bureaucracy, smaller government.

Flourishes under a Republic with democratically elected representatives.

Creates dependency on state; Requires more bureaucracy (larger government) through regulation as the state controls everything, including food, education, housing, communications, health care, energy, transportation, etc.Hinders rights and loss of liberty. Encourages autocratic rule.
Less freedom.

Whereas Republicans tend to embrace Capitalism, Democrats tend to embrace Socialism, which helps explain the significant void between the two parties.

HOW DO THE DEMOCRATS MANAGE?

Posted by Tim Bryce on August 4, 2020

BRYCE ON POLITICS

– Not very well I’m afraid.

Click for AUDIO VERSION.
To use this segment in a Radio broadcast or Podcast, send TIM a request.

As a long-time management consultant who has worked with a wide range of companies around the world, I have been considering how well Democrats manage at the municipal, county, state, and Congressional levels. Aside from giving away benefits in order to buy votes, they have not impressed me. I therefore beg the question…

WHAT DO THE DEMOCRATS DO FOR YOU?

1. As Mayors and city/town councils – Democrats command the lion’s share of urban areas across the United States. One of the more controversial subjects they embrace is “sanctuary cities” which is intended to provide a safety zone for illegal immigrants from prosecution. They even go so far as to not cooperate with federal officials concerned with capturing illegals and returning them to their country of origin. Democrats claim they want to provide a safety zone for such people so they can enjoy the social, medical, and educational benefits of America, thereby grooming them for future voters. To this end, policies have been introduced to prevent local police and other city workers from asking about a person’s immigration status.

Today, cities run by the Democrats foster a culture conducive to protests, rioting and vandalism. Such turmoil puts the safety of citizens in jeopardy, as well as local businesses. One side-effect from such a culture is the rise of gun violence in inner cities, the likes of which we haven’t seen before. Quite frankly, there couldn’t be a better time for being a criminal. All of this implies Democrats are anti-safety, anti-business, and anti-law and order, which I translate into un-American.

2. As county officials – Democrats are trying desperately to introduce the concept of “regionalism” which, in a nutshell, looks to create metropolitan governments spanning multiple counties. For example, in the Tampa Bay area, it is concerned with combining Hillsborough County with Pinellas, and possibly more, such as Manatee, Pasco, and Sarasota. In California, the Bay area region could involve San Francisco, Oakland, and Sonoma County. In Western New York, it might mean combining Buffalo, Niagara Falls, and Jamestown. In southwest Ohio, it would include Cincinnati, northern Kentucky, and southeast Indiana. This is a concept that has been tested in Europe (such as in the Basque area between Spain and France).

By creating such regions, they are creating another layer of government bureaucracy and taxes. Translation: more big government that will usurp the power of municipalities and counties. Under this scenario, the ideal progressive power structure would appear as:

Global > Federal > State > Region > County > Municipal

Whereas globalization represents a threat to the authority of federal and state governments, regionalism will do likewise to counties and municipalities. The real intent is to increase political power by reshaping the structure of government. Basically, it negates the need for legal and long-standing geographical boundaries, even going so far as to cross state lines.

3. As Governors – Democrats do not have a stellar record for managing their states. To illustrate, for many years the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, reported the financial stability of the fifty states, plus Puerto Rico and Guam. The report considered debt and financial obligations, as well as state pension programs and health care benefits. The last report was in 2018. At that time, the Top 10 best run states were predominantly Republican:

#1 – Nebraska (R)
#2 – South Dakota (R)
#3 – Tennessee (R)
#4 – Florida (R)
#5 – Oklahoma (R)
#6 – Wyoming (R)
#7 – Idaho (R)
#8 – Utah (R)
#9 – North Carolina – (Democrat Governor, Republican Assembly)
#10 – Nevada – (D)

The Bottom 10 states were predominantly Democrat:

#41 – New York (D)
#42 – California (D)
#43 – West Virginia (D)
#44 – Delaware (D)
#45 – New Mexico (D)
#46 – Kentucky – (Democrat Governor, Republican Assembly)
#47 – Massachusetts (D)
#48 – New Jersey (D)
#49 – Connecticut (D)
#50 – Illinois (D)

It appears financial success in state governments is not by accident, but by responsible economic policies. Not surprising, the Bottom 10 have higher taxes which is ultimately causing people and businesses to flee their states as economic refugees.

All of this demonstrates the incompetence of Democrat Governors as managers.

4. Congress – not surprising, Congress is gridlocked. House Democrats spurn the label of “do nothing” as they point to the legislation they have passed, all of which they knew wouldn’t pass in the Senate chamber. This implies their bills were designed more for political purposes than anything else.

This leaves them plenty of time to root on their Democrat constituents back home. It has now become obvious the Democrats at the municipal level are getting their marching orders from their Congressional leaders.

I personally find it amusing to see Democrats try to deceive the American public. To illustrate, following a recent night of violence in Portland, where local authorities declared it a riot, Rep. Jerry Nadler (D NY-10) told a reporter, the violence is a “myth that’s being spread only in Washington DC.” How he says this with a straight face is beyond me.

So, as managers, Democrats do not rate very well. Instead of taking steps to correct the violence and destruction, they would rather put the welfare of their citizens and businesses in jeopardy, all for political purposes. They also spurn the rule of law, all for political purposes as well. As a result, they are driving people and businesses away who no longer want to experience their madness.

This is the Democrat Party of 2020. No wonder their symbol is the jackass.

Keep the Faith!

We’re now less than 100 days from our national election. Absentee ballots and early voting is just around the corner. The last four years have been tumultuous to say the least. As I go into the voting booth, here is what I’ll be thinking…

I WILL NEVER FORGET…

1. The persecution by the Democrats during the confirmation hearing of Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh (click to VIEW video).

2. The Mueller Witch Hunt which wasted considerable taxpayer money and found nothing substantial to prove Russian collusion by the Trump administration (click to VIEW video).

3. The Government Shutdown as the Democrats tried to thwart the building of our southern wall (click to VIEW video).

4. The Impeachment Hoax as orchestrated by Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats (click to VIEW video).

11. The destruction of historical icons, including early presidents and patriots (click to VIEW video).

12. How Democrats in major cities are de-funding Law Enforcement, thereby putting public safety at risk (click to VIEW video).

13. The 2020 “Summer of Hate” where protesters, rioters and looters ran amok in the United States (click to VIEW video).

14. The opening of the American Embassy in Jerusalem, something promised by past presidents, yet failed to implement (click to VIEW video).

15. The elimination of ISIS terrorists (click to VIEW video).

16. Finally achieving Energy Independence, thereby bringing the cost of energy down, as well as inflation (click to VIEW video).

17. The reinvigorated American military (click to VIEW video).

18. New and stronger American trade deals (click to VIEW video).

19. A robust economy, the envy of the world (click to VIEW video).

20. I will particularly not forget the lying, cheating, subversion, deceptive practices, distortions of the truth, character assassinations, and the hateful violence, all by the Democrats. “Enough is Enough!” They have lost all credibility, their actions are treacherous, their moral turpitude is heinous, and this must all stop.

I will not forget. Will you?

Elephants never forget. Independents too. Now on to victory in November.

WHAT HAPPENS IF TRUMP LOSES?

Posted by Tim Bryce on July 28, 2020

BRYCE ON POLITICS

– 10 things to think about in a Biden presidency.

Click for AUDIO VERSION.
To use this segment in a Radio broadcast or Podcast, send TIM a request.

Before we begin, let me be clear, I believe President Trump is going to win handily in November, but I’ve been pondering the consequences if he lost, which every American should consider. The polls tell us former VP Joe Biden is way ahead, just like they did for Sec. Hillary Clinton in 2016. Please remember, polls make their money not by telling the truth, but by creating controversy, just like the news media. Their surveying techniques are inconsistent and, as such, are flawed. If the polls said an incumbent was ahead, nobody would pay attention, but if the underdog is projected to win, then you’ve got something to peddle, which is what we have today in our presidential race. Just remember, none of the polls predicting a Biden victory were correct in 2016. In other words, don’t hold your breath on Mr. Biden’s chances.

Nonetheless, we know what the president’s track record is, but what if former VP Joe Biden won by some miracle? Running through this scenario should cause us to pause and think of the consequences. Here are ten things to consider should the country elect Mr. Biden president:

10. Mr. Biden has said he will re-institute a lot of the Obama-era regulations, thereby causing government bureaucracy to expand and thereby hindering business.

9. As for education, school choice will disappear, as will charter schools. The teaching of history and civics will continue to abate. The Common Core program, as introduced under the Obama administration, will likely return.

8. The United States will likely reverse several foreign policy initiatives, including the Paris Agreement for climate control, the Iran nuclear agreement (former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley adamantly warns against doing this), and other NATO and WHO initiatives allowing our foreign allies NOT to pay their fair share of expenses.

7. Whereas the Trump administration has made considerable progress in trade deals (e.g., USMCA, Japan, and India), look for the United States to cave on others, particularly China.

6. The Supreme Court will likely change; first, Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer will likely retire as they will be replaced by liberal candidates. No conservative member dare retire as this would open the possibility of liberals controlling the court and writing legislation from the bench.

5. Now that the far-Left has learned how to affect change, they will run amok and desecrate more historical icons and buildings. Law enforcement will be de-funded, thereby hindering their ability to do their job and plummeting the country into chaos. It will not be a good time to be in law enforcement.

4. With the increase of Biden tax hikes, look for manufacturing jobs to move offshore again. Add to this, elements of the New Green Deal which will close fossil fuel companies, causing a spike in energy costs, all of which will force the cost of living skywards. We will, of course, lose our energy independence.

3. Interest rates will rise sharply, thereby reducing home and automobile sales, which will hurt manufacturing and construction jobs. This will also signal the increase in unemployment, particularly among Latinos, and African-Americans.

2. As Mr. Biden has promised tax hikes if elected, the stock markets will experience a major sell-off immediately after the election, thereby devastating IRA’s and 401Ks.

1. Bottom-line, the economy will tank.

My Democrat friends would claim this is an unrealistic doomsday scenario. Really? With minor exception, these same policies trace their roots back to those introduced under President Obama. Therefore this represents a return to Obamanomics and his foreign policies.

The reality is, if Mr. Biden is elected the United States would not be the same type of country we knew just a few short years ago. It will embrace a socialist agenda and drive businesses offshore. Basically, we will see the United states change in a similar manner as the State of California under Ronald Reagan, with a robust middle class, to today where the middle class is moving away, leaving a two class state: the very rich, and the very poor. Scary, very scary.

Frankly, I believe Mr. Biden to be in over his head. I still cannot comprehend how someone like Mr. Biden, who was beaten twice by Hillary Clinton, who was defeated by Mr. Trump, can beat the president. It just doesn’t add up.

It’s your choice America.

Keep the Faith!

WHAT IS THE NEW NORMAL?

Posted by Tim Bryce on July 23, 2020

BRYCE ON POLITICS

– It is nothing like the 20th century.

Click for AUDIO VERSION.
To use this segment in a Radio broadcast or Podcast, send TIM a request.

A good friend of mine recently told me he has given up on sports for the foreseeable future. This was a bit startling as I knew him to be an ardent fan of Major League Baseball, the NFL, the National Hockey League, and various college sports for many years (however, he gave up on the NBA years ago). He contends the interest in sports was beaten out of him by the news media, COVID-19, and the politicizing of sports. He is so disgusted with it, he won’t even read the sports section in the local newspaper anymore, it is that bad. Frankly, I couldn’t argue with him as there are many such changes happening all around us which is commonly referred to as the “new normal.”

To take this further, on the highways there is no cooperation or courtesy, just individualism leading to angst and hostilities on the road. Instead of paying attention to the road, people are more concerned with texting and talking on their smart phones. Consequently, people clog the express lane (the left lane) and weave in and out of traffic or ride the bumper of the car in front of them; anything to get ahead, not wait your turn. This is the “new normal” on our roadways.

Customer Service is a fallacious concept. There is no longer any sense of keeping the customer happy in order to retain the customer’s business which may lead to additional sales. Nobody cares. It is now a matter of processing the sale as fast as possible and let the customer fight afterwards with “voice mail jail” and the Internet. In stores, we now look like hooded thugs; no smiles, no pleasantries, no nothing. The “new normal” for customer service is “Look out for number 1” (the company), leaving the customer to avoid stepping in number 2.

News is depressing. Many have stopped watching it on television or reading it through official news sources. Not only is a lot of it repetitive, it is predictable as to how it will be interpreted (spun). Consequently, it has lost its integrity and legitimacy. The fact we no longer trust the news is another “new normal” by which we live by.

In our urban areas, gun violence is on the rise as is thuggish behavior, arson and looting. In the nation’s capitol, the rhetoric in Congress is much more visceral and gridlock is commonplace. This too is the “new normal.”

Basic courtesy is from a bygone era, such as holding a door open for someone, saying please and thank you, extending a helping hand and basic charity; all are rapidly fading into the past as evidenced by a dwindling number of places of worship and nonprofit charities. This will only grow worse as schools are closing in observance of CORONA-19 and the politics of teachers unions. Without schools, children will grow more dependent on technology and their socialization skills will further deteriorate. This too is part of the “new normal.”

The CORONA-19 virus is causing people to become somewhat introverted. They hide in houses and avoid human contact of any kind. In addition, companies are no longer allowed to conduct business as usual. Not only does this hurt sales but it also hinders teamwork as people are now asked to work from home. All of this, of course, affects our socialization skills.

In addition to CORONA-19, the cause of the “new normal” is actually based on a combination of several things, such as declining moral values, an irresponsible media, politics (e.g., “The Summer of Hate”), and a reliance on technology to do the thinking for us. Unfortunately, it showcases the negative side of the human spirit, such as hate, jealousy, spite, greed, and a disregard for cooperation, courtesy and respect.

The “new normal” is “abnormal” to those of us who remember the go-go years of the 20th century. In fact, it is rather depressing. Interestingly, cases of anxiety and depression have been steadily increasing prior to 2020, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it spike in this election year.

The “new normal” is not about something as banal as tattoos, body piercings, orange hair, or vernacular. It is about our ability to socialize effectively, something that is radically declining as we are asked to choose sides in political ideology. It is a callous attitude regarding our fellow human-beings, and an egocentric view of our perceived individual importance. No, the “new normal” does not include cooperation, sacrifice, teamwork, or friendliness, but rather it involves confrontation, combativeness, ridicule, selfishness, and a sense of entitlement.

So, where did this come from? Look no further than the Baby Boomers who failed at raising their children responsibly, along with the media and far-Left who have been trying to change our moral values for years.

I would like to believe our attitudes will change following the November 3rd election, that we will somehow snap out of it, but I know this simply will not happen. Everything is drifting on the wind. Our choice is rather simple; we either accept the “new normal” and allow the country to chart a new course or reject it by saying, “Enough is enough!,” and take on the task of correcting it. Understand this, it is not so much what the older generation wants to do, it is ultimately up to the younger generation. All the elders can do is offer advice (and vote).

Keep the Faith!

HOW IS THE FIGHT FOR FLORIDA SHAPING UP?

Posted by Tim Bryce on July 21, 2020

BRYCE ON POLITICS

– An increase in voter registration indicates an historic turnout.

Click for AUDIO VERSION.
To use this segment in a Radio broadcast or Podcast, send TIM a request.

It’s time for me to begin making preparations to do my annual statistical analysis on voting in Florida. This is when I dust off my spreadsheets and ready myself for the influx of voting data from the state. August 18th is the Florida Primary, and early voting for it is August 8th – 15th. As I’m sure you are aware, Florida is a swing state, just as it was in 2016.

In preparation for the primary, I wanted to check on registration by party affiliation to get a sense of who will be voting in the Fall. Not long ago (June 16th) I read a report titled, “Florida Among Group of States Seeing Decline in Voter Registration.” I would really like to know how the reporter came to this conclusion as I found just the opposite, as there are more people registered as of today than in all of 2016.

As usual, I visited the web site of the Florida Division of Elections (under the Secretary of State), which is the agency charged with maintaining such data. Here is what I found:

GOP DEM INDEP
2020 4,851,116 5,127,920 3,595,208 as of April 30th
2016 4,577,406 4,914,593 3,129,277 Total
+6% +4% +15%

Note: The registration deadline to vote in the Florida primary ended yesterday (July 20th) and I do not yet have the final numbers.

The data reveals an upswing in registration by Republicans (up 6%), the Democrats (up 4%), and Independents (up a whopping 15%). Similarly, my county (Pinellas) is also showing a slight upswing in registration by both parties.

From studying the data, I can make the following observations:

Even though Republicans were behind the Democrats in terms of 2016 registrations, the state went to Donald Trump for two reasons; first, actual voting by Democrats lagged behind Republicans, and; second, Mr. Trump won the vote of the Independents.

Today, both parties are making gains over 2016 and will likely set new records in voting, but the biggest increase is that of Independents. The big question in 2020 is, “Will the Independents still support President Trump?” The Democrats say No, but I believe otherwise. In 2016, they went with Mr. Trump as they knew the nation’s capitol is broken and, instead of electing another politician, they gave an outsider a try. To his credit, the president kept many of his campaign promises, including moving the American embassy to Jerusalem, exterminating ISIS, energy independence, reducing government bureaucracy thereby allowing America to go back to work in record numbers, and, an overall improvement in the economy.

In 2020 though, the Independents are fed up with the helter-skelter of the congressional Democrats, and the hate emanating from the far-Left anarchists, including an attempted elimination of our history and sweeping changes to our culture. Independents will likely say, “Enough is enough!” at the ballot box. In other words, the Silent Majority, which includes Independents, will carry the day.

Next, the press contends Republicans are gravitating away from Mr. Trump and turning to former VP Joe Biden. I hear just the opposite; moderate Democrats have had it with the socialist agenda of the far-Left and have no faith in Mr. Biden’s abilities to govern. I have personally heard this on multiple occasions from older Democrats who would like to see the party turn the clock back to the 20th century.

The last thing I learned from studying this, is how wrong the “Fake News” can be. Finding the actual data from the State is incredibly easy, so why does the reporter in the article claim Florida is “experiencing a major decline in new voter registration numbers compared to this time in 2016.” This is just plain sloppy reporting. It also means “Fake News” is still alive and well in the Tampa Bay area, as well as across the United States. This is why we created “Tampa Bay Conservatives” (TBC) web site to report REAL news. The site can be found at: TBCtampa.com

So, how is Florida shaping up for the 2020 election? If the Republicans and Independents continue making gains in registration, President Trump should have no problem in being re-elected. And as Florida goes, so goes the country.

AMERICAN CITIES: HOME TO “UNFRIENDLY” FIRE

BRYCE ON POLITICS

– The violence of New York, Chicago, and Atlanta.

To say Independence Day was unusual this year is an understatement. There were few home town parades celebrating it, fewer firework displays, and more protesting from the far-Left. Americans were particularly appalled by the gun violence in our major cities, most notably:

New York – 44 shootings, 63 victims, 11 fatalities
Chicago – 47 shootings, 87 victims, 17 fatalities
Atlanta – 11 shootings, 31 victims, 5 fatalities

TOTAL – 102 shootings, 181 victims, 33 fatalities (some were innocent young children).

All of this in just one weekend, not to mention the other metro areas experiencing similar problems. And remember, this was a weekend intended to celebrate American independence, not mayhem.

These numbers are higher than last year’s. To see how bad it currently is, I reviewed the statistics as produced by the police departments of the three cities. Here are the alarming numbers I found:

New York City - Mayor Bill de Blasio (D)
Shooting victims through June 28th -
2020 to date - 616 - Avg 24 shooting victims/week
2019 (total) - 406 - Avg 8 shooting victims/week

Chicago – Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D)Shooting victims through July 5th
2020 to date – 1448 – Avg 54 shooting victims/week
2019 (total) – 1018 – Avg 39 shooting victims/week

Atlanta – Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms (D)
Shooting victims through June 28th
2020 to date – 344 – Avg 13 shooting victims/week
2019 (total) – 285 – Avg 5 shooting victims/week

These figures indicate the numbers will double or triple this year over the last.

Not surprisingly, Chicago leads the way in shootings as their reputation has gained worldwide notoriety. Ironically, New York and Chicago have some of the toughest gun control laws in the country, yet the violence only escalates. New York City’s gun laws are tougher than the state’s, which are tough to begin with, and; Chicago brags about their gun laws where they have banned the possession of certain semi-automatic firearms and laser sights, among other things.

In addition to tough gun laws, all three cities are considering de-funding the police in order to curb the strength of the police and/or changing how they react to violent situations. We should probably first ask the families of the 33 fatalities and 181 victims from the 4th of July weekend what their opinion is on the subject. Now is not the time for a wacky social experiment, but rather time for law and order.

For a long time, President Trump has said the Federal Government is willing to come to the assistance of the cities through financial and tactical resources to restore law and order. All the mayors and governors have to do is ask. Unfortunately, his offers are routinely snubbed by Democrat mayors, particularly de Blasio, Lightfoot, and Bottoms. So much so, it seems like they are under orders from senior Democrat officials not to deal with the President as it might be perceived as another “win” for Mr. Trump prior to election day. In the meantime, the shootings and fatalities pile up. This makes you wonder about the priorities of these mayors, particularly Mayor de Blasio who is more interested in painting “Black Lives Matter” on 5th Avenue, in front of Trump Tower.

In the end, the citizens of New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and other Democrat urban areas better get used to burying bodies while the mayors play politics. To them, it is more important to beat President Trump in the general election as opposed to saving the lives of their own local citizens.

10 TIPS FOR CONFRONTING THE NEWS MEDIA

Posted by Tim Bryce on July 14, 2020

BRYCE ON POLITICS

– How to take the media to task for “Fake News.”

Click for AUDIO VERSION.
To use this segment in a Radio broadcast or Podcast, send TIM a request.

One of the great fatalities of the 21st century is the integrity of American journalism. We no longer have confidence in the media’s ability to represent the facts honestly and impartially. America’s trust in the news media is almost as low as their trust in Congress, and that is not a good thing. In fact, many Americans consider the news media as a branch of a political party, and No it is not the Republicans, which is why they look elsewhere for sources of news, mostly trusting live speeches, events and interviews, and not the OpEds of what was said afterwards.

The news media answers to no one except the almighty dollar. Even here though, their soiled integrity has cost them billions and they continue to lose subscribers and viewers. Therefore, the best way to attack them is to eliminate their source of energy, right in the pocketbook. The far-Left is cognizant of this as they have attacked Fox News and their shows in this manner for a number of years. Perhaps now is the time to fight fire with fire. Presidential election years represent boom times for the media. In 2018 alone, representing a minor midterm election, over $2 billion was spent on the media. In all likelihood 2020 will double this. Take away the media’s source of money and you are well on your way to crippling them.

I am often asked by grassroots voters, “what can I do?” Actually, quite a lot. Here are ten suggestions, some rather obvious, others coming from the playbook of the far-Left.

1. “Just say No,” meaning cancel subscriptions and refuse to watch certain television networks. Ratings are closely monitored by everyone, particularly advertisers. When ratings go down, advertisers look for other avenues to promote their wares.

2. Boycott sponsors – this is a favorite of the far-Left. Not only do they attack the networks, they also attack the advertisers through a letter writing campaign. Let’s put the shoe on the other foot for a change.

3. Picket the news media – the media loves to report protests, but not of their own offices. Yet, their competitors are quick to report on such demonstrations. If you are going to do this, assemble an impressive number of people and have someone play press agent to let the media and others know of the picketing. Also, have a rehearsed spokesman ready to answer questions from the press (and have a press release ready). Even better, hold a Trump flag waving event in front of their offices, this will make their heads spin.

4. “Be Vocal” – instigate a letter writing campaign to the news media for false reporting, aka “Fake News.” This can usually be done on-line through the company’s web site. The more people involved in the letter writing campaign, the better. Even though the news media will likely not print your letter, beat them over the head again and again until they realize people are not happy with them. Your objective is to make them squeamish about writing a similar piece.

5. Write essays, blogs, podcasts or use social media to call for the resignation of certain reporters, editors and publishers. Again, turn the heat up by doing so over and over again. Conversely, compliment such people when they have done a good job. See a poll with suspicious data? Call them out on it. Do not let their claims go unchallenged. Most do not know how to conduct a fair and impartial survey. Let the world know about it.

6. Seek out polls on news media performance – It is difficult to be put on a list to participate, but if a media related poll is revealed, be sure to tell your colleagues about it and encourage them to vote accordingly. Such polls are also monitored by advertisers.

7. Distribute news yourself through social media – By doing so, you are discrediting “Fake News” and weakening their power.

8. Push for electoral reform – the news media makes its billions thanks in part to a long electoral cycle, usually two years for presidential candidates, but if this was reduced in time to one year, six months or whatever, it would have a devastating effect on the cash flow of the news media. Here is another idea, instead of giving everything to the news media, how about establishing a $1-for-$1 concept, meaning for every dollar spent on marketing by the candidate, another dollar would be placed in a separate account for either a charity or to improve the nation’s infrastructure. In addition, to cutting the news media’s income in half, we could actually do some good with the campaign money.

9. Demand certification – ask your congressman to introduce legislation mandating certification of journalists covering government. Journalism is one of the few professions that does not require certification. One program I am familiar with is the Constitution First Amendment Press Association (CFAPA). Their pledge is a sort of Hippocratic oath as applied to journalists. The CFAPA pledge means they will conform to ethical standards, imagine that.

10. Report flagrant errors in news reporting to the FCC. This applies to news as presented on television, radio, the Internet, and by telephone. Again, the more complaints, the more effective you will be.

This is quite a list, and much more than one person can do alone, but if everyone did just one thing from the list, imagine how far we could go in terms of correcting the problems of the press.

Please note, I am certainly not asking you to break the law or spread fallacious lies, that is what the far-Left does. I am just trying to review alternatives to combat an out-of-control news media.

And finally, if you are part of an organized political group, appoint a news media coordinator who will solicit and train volunteers, devise strategy and lead the troops into battle.

Good luck.

VOTER FRAUD IS DIRTY BUSINESS

Posted by Tim Bryce on July 9, 2020

BRYCE ON POLITICS

– How will the Democrats cheat this time?

Click for AUDIO VERSION.
To use this segment in a Radio broadcast or Podcast, send TIM a request.

Back in the 1960 presidential election, pitting John F. Kennedy against Richard M. Nixon, JFK won by an eyelash. Had it not been for some critical votes produced at the last minute in Chicago (home to Mayor Richard J. Daley (D)) and Texas (home to VP candidate Lyndon B. Johnson (D)), the election could have easily gone to Richard Nixon. Later, ballots were identified bearing the names of people who were deceased, which became legendary in terms of voter fraud. The election results in Illinois and Texas were going to be challenged by the Republicans, but Nixon didn’t want to put the country through a Constitutional crisis and bowed out.

Voter Fraud is a dirty business and, unfortunately, we have been plagued by it for several years. To assume it doesn’t exist is laughable as there is too much evidence of it. More on this in just a moment.

Over the years, the Democrats have tried a variety of things to garner more votes, such as lowering the voting age to 16 or 17. Frankly, I think it should be raised to 21 as the maturity for politics is simply not there at such an early age. Next, Dems propose allowing illegal immigrants to vote, something that is normally reserved for registered citizens. There has also been the bugaboo over Voter ID, implying those who have been unable to obtain proper identification are being ostracized. This, of course, is utter nonsense. And now we hear of accepting write-in ballots without voter verification. This would allow any Tom, Dick, or Harry to stuff the ballot box, not to mention foreign governments. However, you have to hand it to the Democrats on their tenacity. They cannot win legally so they make no bones about winning any way they can.

As another example of their wanting to rig voting, consider the recent passage in the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives to make Washington, DC the 51st state of the Union. By doing so, the Dems hope to get two more Senate seats and one more House seat.

Our founding fathers never intended for the area to become a state, but a nonpartisan district from which to maintain the government. According to Article I, Section 8, Clause 17 of the United States Constitution, the “District Clause,” it states: “[The Congress shall have Power] To exercise exclusive legislation in all cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten miles square) as may, by cession of particular states, and the acceptance of Congress, become the seat of the government of the United States.” In other words, Congress is to oversee the running of the District.

Further, the District of Columbia is physically small, a meager 61.05 square miles. Compare this to tiny Rhode Island, our smallest state, which is a whopping 1,988.5% bigger (1,214 square miles).

Fortunately, this legislation will be Dead on Arrival in the Senate, but it illustrates the lengths the Democrats are willing to go to get their way. To make matters worse, people like Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) like to play the race card, saying recently, “race underlies every argument against D.C. statehood.” This is sheer tripe.

Making matters worse, Democrats have been resisting the cleansing of voter rolls, to eliminate people who are deceased, have moved, or are registered multiple times in different counties or states, thereby offering them the ability to enter multiple votes.

Despite the claims of innocence by the Democrats, there is considerable evidence that Voter Fraud does indeed exist. The Heritage Foundation maintains a data base of incidents from over the last 20-30 years. As of this writing, they claim there has been 1,285 proven instances of voter fraud in this country, and 1,110 criminal convictions. Their report, “A Sampling of Election Fraud Cases from Across the Country” lists sample cases by state (click to DOWNLOAD).

Interestingly, the data base reveals 37 instances of voter fraud here in Florida since 1992. My old home state of Ohio shows 52 instances since 2000. The findings are impressive and I encourage people to check it out.

According to the Heritage Foundation report, here are the various types of Voter Fraud:

“Fraudulent Use Of Absentee Ballots
Requesting absentee ballots and voting without the knowledge of the actual voter; or obtaining the absentee ballot from a voter and either filling it in directly and forging the voter’s signature or illegally telling the voter who to vote for.

Ineligible Voting
Illegal registration and voting by individuals who are not U.S. citizens, are convicted felons, or are otherwise not eligible to vote.

Impersonation Fraud At The Polls
Voting in the name of other legitimate voters and voters who have died, moved away, or lost their right to vote because they are felons, but remain registered.

Buying Votes
Paying voters to cast either an in-person or absentee ballot for a particular candidate.

Ballot Petition Fraud
Forging the signatures of registered voters on the ballot petitions that must be filed with election officials in some states for a candidate or issue to be listed on the official ballot.

Duplicate Voting
Registering in multiple locations and voting in the same election in more than one jurisdiction or state.

False Registrations
Voting under fraudulent voter registrations that either use a phony name and a real or fake address or claim residence in a particular jurisdiction where the registered voter does not actually live and is not entitled to vote.

Altering The Vote Count
Changing the actual vote count either in a precinct or at the central location where votes are counted.

Illegal ‘Assistance’ At The Polls
Forcing or intimidating voters—particularly the elderly, disabled, illiterate, and those for whom English is a second language—to vote for particular candidates while supposedly providing them with ‘assistance.'”

There is little doubt we will see all of these types employed during the 2020 election, with possibly some new twists thrown in. This list represents crimes which carry jail terms and/or fines, but I would also rescind their right to vote as well.

Even now, we are seeing symptoms of Voter Fraud being rigged with the commercial polls which are trending in favor of former VP Joe Biden. These are the same polls which predicted a Hillary Clinton landslide in 2016 by double digits. I have researched the polls and recognize they are either operated by Democrats or they do not know how to conduct an accurate poll with registered voters. Again, as in 2016, they want the public to believe there is a tsunami of support heading Mr. Biden’s way. All of this would be funny if it wasn’t so scary how the polls are rigged. Actually, the “Fake News” is behind the polls and, as such, have sensationalized them to the point of making them totally worthless.

For years, I voted using punch cards which I found simple and efficient for voting. Then we experienced the “hanging chad” snafu of the 2000 election, something I still contend was a fabricated problem. Now we have a voting system that appears to be prone to error and outside manipulation, even in spite of the available technology of today. Frankly, I am ready to go back to old-fashioned paper ballots and pencils, along with a valid Voter ID card; anything to make the 2020 election honest and fair, but that is not how the Democrats want it as their mantra is “win at all costs, even if it is illegal.”

Just remember, “Voting without a valid Voter ID card is like allowing someone to drive on our streets without a valid driver’s license or tags.” It is just not right.

Keep the Faith!
